Harvard University Allston Campus

Allston, Massachusetts (2005 - 2006)

Client: Harvard Planning + Allston Initiative, Harvard University

Project for Public Spaces is engaged with Harvard University to apply its expertise in Placemaking to the problem of how to achieve a sense of place and an attractive, active environment at Harvard's new Allston campus, which is being planned for development over the next 50 years. PPS has been working with successive master planning teams, beginning with Cooper Robertson & Partners in 2006 with Gehry Partners, the Olin Partnership, and Chan, Kreiger Associates. The current master planning team is led by Ayers Saint Gross, with Renzo Piano Building Workshop.

The Placemaking work focuses on creating great destinations, great streets and places where there will be a clear benefit for both University and community stakeholders.

PPS also worked with Harvard in 2005 on the North Campus in Cambridge .
